This filter media utilizes the innovative water treatment technology known as Moving Bed Biofilm Reactor (MBBR). By keeping the media suspended and constantly moving in the water, a biofilm of bacteria naturally forms on its surface, efficiently breaking down harmful substances like ammonia, nitrite, and organic matter in the aquarium water.

By allowing the media to float in the water using a pump or aeration, the entire surface area where bacteria reside is constantly in contact with the water. Compared to traditional fixed filter media, bacterial activity is significantly enhanced, leading to a dramatic increase in filtration capacity. The system is designed so that water circulation is not stagnant, and the media itself is naturally cleaned.

[Reduced Maintenance & High Durability]

Because the media moves on its own, dead spaces are less likely to form within the filter tank, suppressing the development of anaerobic environments that cause water spoilage and odors. Furthermore, high-density polyethylene (HDPE), a highly durable material, is used.
